About the Role:
Join Sanctuary House as an Adult Mental Health Program Staff member, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery in our internationally accredited Clubhouse Program. We are dedicated to fostering a compassionate and empowering environment for our members in Greensboro, NC.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This is a professional level direct service position with the clients (called members) of Sanctuary House as the primary recipients of services. The Program Specialist provides psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults with serious mental illness in our internationally accredited clubhouse model program.

Duties include service planning, delivery of services, crisis management, assist members in preparing for and maintaining transitional employment (TE) positions, and detailed service documentation. Central to this responsibility is the engagement by the staff of members in all aspects of clubhouse operation. This engagement is best performed by helping members to experience being needed in the performance of normal work ordered day activities necessary to run the program.

This position exists to assist Guilford County adults with serious mental illness to maximize their optimal level of functioning within the community and to prevent re-hospitalization in state facilities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field (strongly preferred).
  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH ADULTS WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS REQUIRED.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience and commitment to a recovery focused approach.
  • Experience in vocational rehabilitation or employment placement services a plus.
  • Strong communication especially in the area of written documentation.
  • Positive and uplifting attitude a MUST!
  • Clinical advocacy and knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to person-centered care.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education.
